  • What is Mysore Style Practice?

    In this traditional approach originating from Mysore, India, each student will learn and develop a daily Ashtanga Yoga practice.  You will be taught through a self-led class with individualized attention from the teacher. This is the perfect setting to learn foundations, as well as continuing to build your practice from the ground up. You get to work and breathe at your own pace and progress through a set series, one posture at a time.  New students can start by practicing 3x a week.  As the body and mind embodies the practice, you can practice up to 6x a week.  

    This shala honors Moon Days, which occurs on the new moon and the full moon on every month. There is no practice on moon days since the risk of injury is higher. Please check the schedule weekly or see dates of Moon Days for 2025 below:

  • Do you need to know yoga to take it?

    This class is for all levels and perfect for those who are new to yoga, as you will get direct guidance and hands-on assist & adjustments from the teacher.  Students new to Mysore style will start with primary series and are encouraged to book a beginner’s session for their first time within the Mysore time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7:30 AM. Established students can contact us directly before their first practice.

    For those students who are working towards memorization of the Rocket sequences 1, 2, & 3, you may choose to take do this Mysore Style.  Contact us directly before your first practice. 

  • What to expect when you arrive?

    Mysore morning hours are from 6:00 - 8:30 AM (M,W,F) and 6:00 - 8:15 AM (T,Th).  It is an open practice, which means you can come in anytime between those hours.  You will practice in noble silence and with other students who are practicing at their own pace. Beginner practices will typically run from 45 minutes to an hour. Come with a yoga mat, wear comfortable clothes that are meant for fitness, and bring your willingness to learn.

    Unlimited membership: $150 (includes Mysore & Led primary, as well as Rocket, Dharma, & Yin classes that complement the Ashtanga practice)
