Class Descriptions

Explore our offerings! Many of our classes are available both in studio and via livestream to make the practice more accessible.

  • Mysore Style Practice

    In this traditional approach to Ashtanga Yoga, you will be assisted through a self-led class with direct one-on-one teaching where you work at your own pace and progress through a set series, one posture at a time. This type of practice is a perfect place to build your practice from the ground up or deepen the experience. This class is for all levels, including those new to yoga, as you will get direct support and hands-on assistance from the teacher.

  • Full Primary

    Led class is an important complement to a regular self-practice for a solid understanding of the Ashtanga practice, including breath, drishti (gaze), and proper vinyasa count. Students will be guided through the poses in the Primary Series, which emphasizes forward bends targeting the hips and hamstrings and building strength by introducing students to jump-backs and jump throughs.

    This is a mixed levels class, however prior experience with Ashtanga Yoga is encouraged. Instruction is minimal, with traditional Sanskrit counting and emphasis on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa method. Modifications may be provided so the practice is accessible to all.

  • Half Primary

    Appropriate for beginners, those who are new to Ashtanga Yoga, or seasoned practitioners looking to refine their practice. This class aims to build a solid foundation in the first half of the Ashtanga Primary Series, which focuses on the sun salutations and standing series, with some seated postures, backbends, and finishing postures.

  • Rocket Yoga

    The Rocket is a well-balanced series of postures based on modifications of the traditional Ashtanga Yoga Primary and Intermediate series. It destroys the hierarchy of postures – putting the practitioner in control – while still honoring the core values and teachings of the lineage. The sequences are designed to invigorate and strengthen the body while also encouraging creativity and freedom.

    This is a mixed levels, asana-focused class that invites you to challenge yourself through exploration and play, while staying accessible through modifications to honor the body’s present abilities. Expect lots of variations, fun transitions, and opportunities to take it up!

  • Dharma Yoga

    A modern interpretation of classical Eight-limbed or Hatha-Raja Yoga, Dharma Yoga is a complete traditional yoga practice as developed and taught by Sri Dharma Mittra. Postures are approached as a moving meditation, a way to experience your own interconnectedness of mind, body, and heart, to develop concentration and contentment and gain strength and flexibility.

    This is a mixed levels class for anyone looking to move and be moved by the practice. Expect a complete practice, including pranayama, asana, deep relaxation, and meditation with an emphasis on developing compassion in your practice and your life.

  • Handstands

    Learn to control your entry into handstand, perfect your alignment, create balance and have fun in this all levels class. Each class includes a functional warm up, conditioning for strength and active flexibility, and drills. Each class will have a different focus depending on student needs, but may include different entries, shapes or transitions between them.

  • Forearm Stands

    Learn to control your entry into forearm stand, perfect your alignment, explore shapes, and have fun in this all levels class. Each class includes a functional warm up, conditioning for strength and active flexibility, and drills. Each class will have a different focus depending on student needs, but may include different entries, shapes or transitions between them.

  • Flexibility

    Create a sustainable practice by learning the fundamentals of flexibility through exercises and drills for improved strength and stability while increasing your overall range of motion. Explore your full potential by deepening your understanding of specific movements or postures and adapting a step by step approach to practice them safely and consistently, while respecting your body’s present abilities.

    This class is most appropriate for students with a consistent yoga practice, but is open to all levels. Expect a short flowing warm up and a series of drills to prepare the body, as well as a complete breakdown of any poses covered in class with hands-on assists and individualized feedback to guide your practice. The focus of each class will vary, but exercises may target hip, hamstring, shoulder, or spinal flexibility.

  • Yin Yoga

    In a modern world of constant stimulation, Yin Yoga can help bring balance to the yang of everyday life. Yin is a mindful and stilling practice that cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of mind and body stresses. The practice focuses on releasing the connective tissues of the body (tendons, ligaments and fascia. ) by holding fewer poses for longer periods of time, often with the support of props, allowing the practitioner to relax and exercise patience and quiet, much like time spent in meditation.

    This class is suitable for anyone looking to balance a more energetic practice, increase flexibility, keep joints healthy and mobile, improve posture, reduce stress, or enhance body awareness.

  • Pranayama + Yoga Nidra

    Find your center within our Pranayama and Yoga Nidra class.

    Pranayama, the ancient art of breath control, guides you in harnessing the power of your breath to balance the mind and energize the body. Through a series of breathwork techniques, you'll learn to connect with your breath on a deeper level, promoting better mental concentration and balanced life force energy.

    Yoga Nidra, often referred to as yogic sleep or conscious rest, offers a unique yet challenging experience of moving awareness from gross to subtle while practicing non-attachment. Similar to a guided meditation practice, you'll witness the inner activities of the mind while being instructed to remain present and focused in the moment which helps to reduce anxiety and realize the inner calm that is already within you.

    Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, our class welcomes all levels. Join us to reconnect with your inner peace and whole self.
